Hi Peter,
To get to the product template, in the admin panel on the left, click Pages. Locate the PROD page in the list, and beside it, click the edit button. Then from the tabs in the right panel, select Product Display Layout.

You don’t mention how to actually get to the template for the product detail page – Where is this located? Thanks!

never mind – it’s the yellow button. However, it’s unclear what the field properties do – i.e.
- what is the “code” and what does it do? where is it used? eg?
- what is the “prompt” and what does it do? eg?

Hi Matt, The Power Search module from Emporium Plus has the option to include custom fields, and allows you to select which specific custom fields you want to have searchable. If you don't want to invest in a module, you can put the search terms in your description between html comment tags so they don't display on the page, but you should research the search engine implications of this method before implementing it.

Any idea how to get these custom fields to show up in searches on the website? I added a manufacturer custom field and when I search for the manufacturer nothing shows up. If I add it to the description that works, but I was hoping for a slicker solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks! I couldn’t figure out why my customfields suddenly stopped appearing, and this was the first google hit that came up. You just saved me hours of headaches!
